Incorporating Higher Intensity into your OT Sessions: Functional HIT

Do you ever find it hard to push your patients? Do you feel like HIT is telling you to be like this?

This month's workshop will explore where higher intensity and client-centered care meet.

More about this workshop

Our courses are educational like, MedBridge, with evidence AND shared experiences from OTs to help *apply* the learning in your setting. ✌🏽Here are the course objectives:

  • Differentiate the 3 different levels of intensity and when to consider implementing higher intensity activity.

  • Learn how to educate our patients about the benefits of higher intensity activity to improve recovery potential.

  • Identify at least 10 ways to incorporate aerobic priming principles into your specific OT practice setting.

  • Explore potential emotional and practical challenges to incorporating higher intensity training into practice and how to remain client-centered.

Fire up those neural pathways!

Meet your Instructor

Jessica Miller

Neuro OT, Mentor & Certified Brain Injury Specialist

Jessica loves helping people learn the skills they need to live satisfying lives - both her patients and other OTs. She's been a neuro OT for over 20 years, works hard to stay on top of evidence, and started New to Neuro OT Mentoring in 2022 to support other therapists and rehab clinics in the sometimes incredible and sometimes overwhelming world of neuro. She has also been an adjunct neuro OT professor at Indiana University, guest lecturer at many OT institutions, and is an (almost!) annual presenter at her state OT annual conferences. She knows how hard OTs work and how HARD the work is. You'll find she has a very approachable, practical style of continuing education based both in evidence and experience that leaves you with actual new tools and more confidence in your clinical reasoning.

Yes! This course provides 1.0 hours of continuing education/professional development. 💪🏽

We are an Approved Continuing Education Provider by the Indiana OT Association (IOTA). For American OTs, NBCOT also recognizes all state-approved programs –so you’re covered there, too. We've also had many international OTs successfully use our CEU/PDUs.

*The assignment of IOTA CE hours does not imply endorsement of specific course content, products or clinical procedures by IOTA.

Because every OT deserves support, and every neuro patient deserves great care.
